Microsoft Stream Your Own Game now finally lets you play directly from the cloud on all consoles

Microsoft has taken a major step forward in the gaming experience with the official arrival of the Stream Your Own Game feature to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers who use Xbox Series X or Series S consoles. Until now, this feature was limited to members of the Xbox Insider program, but with the April update, it became accessible to all subscribers of that service.

The new feature allows you to play games you already have in your library, directly from the cloud, without having to physically install them on the console. This option is especially useful for those who are short on storage space or want to quickly try out a game without waiting for downloads or installations.

With this update, Xbox now offers players a quick alternative to access their titles. The functionality is available from the My Games & Apps section of the console. When accessing your full library of games, you will be able to identify streaming-compatible titles thanks to a cloud icon. There is also the ability to use filters like Ready to Play > Cloud Gaming to quickly access the list of games available for streaming.

When you choose a supported game, simply select the Play with Cloud Gaming option and the game starts in moments — no installation, no wasted time.

It's important to note that this feature only works with games that you've already purchased and that are included in the list of cloud gaming-compatible titles, which you can check on the official Xbox website.

Another relevant new feature is the update of the official Xbox application, available for Android and iOS devices. The app now allows you to purchase games, additional content, Xbox Game Pass subscriptions and even use benefits included in the service. This makes the app much more complete and functional, reducing the need to access the console to perform these tasks.

At the moment, these new features are only included in the beta version of the application, but Microsoft has already confirmed that it will gradually extend them to all users on both mobile platforms. If you want to take advantage of these new features as soon as they become available, you'll want to keep your app updated.

This update to the Xbox ecosystem reinforces Microsoft's commitment to offering a more fluid, flexible and convenient gaming experience for its users, alleviating storage constraints and simplifying access to purchased content. For those who have a Game Pass Ultimate subscription and a Series X or S console, it's worth trying out this new way to play directly from the cloud.
