The series The White Lotus, one of HBO's biggest hits, has already confirmed its fourth season, even before the end of the third. This black comedy anthology, which combines luxury, chaos and a satirical look at the most privileged classes of society, has captured the attention of the public and promises to continue to do so. Although details are scarce, the official confirmation of the fourth season came in January 2025, well before the end of the current season. The series' formula — which mixes mystery and social criticism — continues to win over viewers, and it seems that the creator, Mike White, still has a lot to explore.

Despite the confirmation, fans will have to wait a little longer for the next dose of drama. Production on the fourth season is expected to begin in 2026, meaning it will likely be released later that year or, more likely, early 2027. A cold setting, however, seems out of the question. According to David Bernad, executive producer, Mike White avoids the cold at all costs, preferring warm and sunny locations.

As usual, the new season is expected to bring a fresh cast of characters, divided between wealthy guests and resort employees. However, the possibility of some familiar faces returning has not been ruled out, as happened with Natasha Rothwell, who reprised the role of Belinda Lindsey, the spa manager in the third season, in 2025.

Remarkable characters such as Tanya McQuoid, played by Jennifer Coolidge, also prove that nothing is impossible in the universe of The White Lotus. Despite the character's tragic fate, fans continue to speculate about possible returns.

Mike White, for his part, does not close the door on an “All-Star” season in the future, bringing together some of the best talents from previous seasons.

With its always intriguing plots, The White Lotus mixes drama, satire and mystery, and the fourth season should be no exception. So far, each season has explored a central theme: money in the first and sex in the second. In the third, themes of spirituality and religion have been the focus, so it remains to be seen what Mike White will tackle next – perhaps fame, revenge or legacy?

In terms of storytelling, the classic format of a mysterious death being unravelled over the course of the episodes could be reinvented. “I don’t think there always needs to be a body,” explained White, assuring that the series remains flexible and open to new approaches.
