CES 2025
''mundophone'' selected the craziest products from CES 2025
Smart mirror analyzes your health... The Omnia, from the startup Withings (specialist in modern health equipment), is a mirror that looks like it came out of an episode of Black Mirror. It is connected to a scale that measures several health markers when you... look in the mirror.
The idea is that the product connects with other gadgets from the company, such as blood pressure monitors and smart health watches. So, when you step on the scale, it performs a general monitoring, being able to offer feedback and guidance in real time.
In addition, the model comes with an AI voice assistant and sends the information directly to your doctor (if you want), allowing you to make video calls on the screen.
Imagine having a hologram of your friends at home... Say goodbye to video calls on your cell phone or computer. If it depends on the Dutch company Holoconnects, you will be able to talk to your friends, family and even coworkers via hologram.
The company's idea is the Holobox, a miniature box that projects a life-size hologram of the person you want to talk to. For now, the product costs US$4,500, not including the subscription. In that case, it might be better to continue with video calls.
Afraid of needles? CES 2025 solved your problem... Many people are afraid of needles, but that's no reason to stop getting vaccinated. To eliminate this possible obstacle, the company FlowBeams created the BoldJet;
The product is a device that fits in the palm of your hand and sprays very fine jets of liquid (thinner than a strand of hair) onto the skin. The liquid, which could be an immunizer, for example, penetrates the skin painlessly.
For now, the novelty is just an idea to be presented at CES 2025. The company is working with the cosmetics industry and hopes to enter the healthcare sector soon.
Your food can be even better… and it doesn’t depend on you... The Japanese beer company Kirin wants to make food better. The solution for this doesn’t depend on the ingredients, much less on the cook, but rather on Electric Salt, a spoon that enhances the taste of food.
In practice, the utensil uses electric currents to concentrate sodium ion molecules and enhance the taste of salt and umami. To do this, the operation is a little complex: while you use the spoon, you must place your fingers on a kind of metal wire behind the handle and leave the utensil in your mouth for a few seconds before swallowing the food.
The product is already on sale in Japan for US$ 125. The company hopes to extend the availability of the electric spoon to more countries in the coming years.
Your smartwatch could be a remote control... CES 2025 attendees will have several smartwatch options to check out. It’s not hard to imagine AI devices, with fascinating integrations and health features being showcased at the event. Finnish company Doublepoint has a much more specific proposal than that: an app that turns your smartwatch into a remote control.
The app was named WowMouse (https://docs.doublepoint.com/docs/wowmouse/) and can be used to control everything from TVs to Apple's Vision Pro headset. The secret lies in gesture recognition, which activates a cursor to control the devices. The app is available for Android and Apple smartwatches and costs just US$3.99
