One UI 7: interface with smooth animations and iPhone-style panel

A leaked video of Samsung's One UI 7 showed a shortcut panel for settings with a design inspired by iOS, the iPhone's operating system. The images also give an idea of what the animations of Samsung's new interface will be like. Spoiler: they seem to be faster and more fluid.

One UI 7 may allow customization of quick settings. But it is not yet known whether it will allow resizing and rearranging of shortcuts in the same way or similar to the Control Center of iOS 18.

The One UI 7 beta update, originally expected to arrive last week, is now expected to be released in December.

A video leaked by leaker Ice Universe (via Jukanlosreve on X), showed animations and the new Quick Panel in One UI 7. The expectation is that Samsung will separate the notification and quick settings menus in its new interface.

The quick settings are grouped in bubbles, just like Apple did in iOS. Two bubbles appear at the top, where users can change Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings. Other options (airplane mode, location, flashlight) appear as unmarked icons in a rounded rectangle below.

It’s expected that users will be able to customize these quick settings, adding or removing controls as desired. However, it’s unclear whether they’ll also be able to resize and rearrange the controls, as is possible in iOS 18.

Inspiration aside, a quick panel is a good way to give users a less cluttered interface and more control – all without having to dig into their device’s settings.

As for the faster, more fluid animations, it’s worth noting that the experience may vary depending on the user’s Galaxy device.

The influence of iOS in One UI 7 should also be seen in other parts of the interface – for example: icons, widgets on the lock screen, a new feature that looks like Dynamic Island (that part in the area of the front camera that seems to grow and shrink), a new media player on the lock screen.
