3M has introduced the 3M WorkTunes Connect + Solar Hearing Protector with Bluetooth connectivity and adaptive noise reduction. The hearing protector is designed for users working in noisy, dirty environments, such as gardeners, construction workers, and similar tradespeople, with a durable metal headband and tough plastic earcups lined with long-lasting earpads. Typical noise cancelling headphones can not withstand the abuse encountered in laborious work environments. The headset is also sweat and water resistant.
To prevent hearing loss when using noisy equipment like string trimmers, the 3M WorkTunes utilizes Intelligent Background-Noise Reduction along with a physical noise-blocking design that allows the headset to achieve a 26 dB noise reduction rating (NRR). The Bluetooth headset with auto-volume limiter allows users to take calls and listen to music without encountering excessively loud volumes that can damage hearing.
The headset has a built-in Powerfoyle solar cell to continuously charge the 3M WorkTunes headset indoors and outdoors. This greatly reduces the need for daily recharging, and the battery can power the headset without light for 40 hours. The flexible Dye Sensitized Solar Cell (DSC) was developed by the Swedish company Exeger, giving it the necessary durability to be incorporated into the adjustable headband.
The 3M WorkTunes Connect + Solar Hearing Protector has an MSRP of $169.99 and is available today on Amazon.
