Partnership between Picsart and Getty Images designs generative AI with "safe tools"

Picsart, a photo editing startup backed by SoftBank, announced last Thursday (13) that it is partnering with Getty Images to develop a personalized AI model that should bring images to its 150 million users.

The company guarantees that the model will responsibly bring AI images to creators, marketers, and small businesses using its platform.

By creating its own model trained exclusively on licensed content, Picsart plans to give its users access to safe AI creative tools; The action reverberates as concerns rise over AI-generated images and copyright issues.

AI model will use licensed content in training:

The model will be built from scratch and trained exclusively with creative content licensed from Getty Images.

The company says the partnership will allow Picsart subscribers to generate their own exclusive images, with full commercial rights.

Users will be able to use any of Picsart's editing tools to add or customize assets.

“Picsart offers endless customization, content and editing tools for everything from social media ads to website graphics, and this partnership will enable commercially usable AI-generated images from a world-class brand,” said the CEO and founder of Picsart, Hovhannes Avoyan.

Picsart's schedule foresees the launch of the model later this year. The company is also integrating video content from Getty Images into the Picsart platform and making it available to Plus members.

“We are excited to partner with Getty Images, the most prestigious commercial library out there, to bring this to market,” concluded Avoyan.
