New iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia beta has new iPhone mirroring function on Mac

Apple launched new developer betas for iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia this Monday (24), and the company's spokesperson, Fred Sainz, had already confirmed that, in these betas, the iPhone mirroring function on the Mac would be available The iOS 18 beta is also expected to bring new SharePlay screen sharing features, says Sainz.

The new feature, which Apple first announced at WWDC 24 earlier this month, allows the user to interact with their iPhone directly from the Mac, being able to navigate through applications and even drag and drop files from the Mac to the phone.

Your Mac will also have the ability to show iPhone notifications, and when you click on them, your Mac will be able to open them in the mirrored iPhone interface.

While mirroring to your Mac, the iPhone remains locked;

However, when using Standby during mirroring, what is shown on the iPhone's screen will remain on the device's screen while the user navigates it from the Mac;

The new SharePlay features allow you to draw on someone else's screen, or even control it.

Apple also released a new developer beta of iPadOS 18, which adds support for alternative app stores and includes other changes to comply with the European Union (EU) Digital Markets Act.

Additionally, the new betas for visionOS 2 (Apple Vision Pro) and watchOS 11 (Apple Watch) were released. Full releases of operating system updates are scheduled for the second half of the year.
