Snapdragon 6s Gen 3: Qualcomm unveils overclocked Snapdragon 695 5G before Motorola Moto G85 release

Qualcomm has quietly dropped the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, which is rumoured to be powering the upcoming Motorola Moto G85. However, it seems that the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 is nothing more than an overclocked Snapdragon 695 5G.

A few days have now passed since @MysteryLupin leaked details about the Motorola Moto G85. Originally, the device was expected to land with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 3, a chipset that remains unreleased. @MysteryLupin suggested that Motorola intended to sell the Moto G85 with the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 instead, though.

In short, Motorola has not announced the Moto G85 yet. With that being said, Qualcomm has now listed the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 on its website with the part number 'SM6375-AC' or 'SM6370' for its 4G variant. Upon first glance, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 is a new chipset. However, its part number is the same as the older Snapdragon 695 5G (SM6375) upon which the Moto G84 5G (curr. $229.99 on Amazon) is based.

As such, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 utilises a 6 nm TSMC node, an Adreno 619 GPU and a FastConnect 6200 modem with support for LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 flash storage. Moreover, the chipset features two ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores that can boost 2 GHz. By contrast, the Snapdragon 695 5G peaks at 2.2 GHz on its Cortex-A78 cores and 1.7 GHz on its Cortex-A55 cores. In other words, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 is an overclocked Snapdragon 695 5G.
