COMPUTEX 2024

Com AMD e Intel: XMG Evo 14/15 são os primeiros laptops para jogos sem dGPU

XMG EVO 14 and EVO 15 notebooks revealed with Intel Core Ultra 7 155H and AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processors

The XMG EVO 14 and EVO 15 laptops have gone official with the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H/Ryzen 7 8845HS CPUs and up to 96 GB of RAM. The smaller EVO 14 starts at less than €1,000 ($1,087.49), while the larger EVO 15 costs less than €1,100 for the base configuration (prices inclusive of Value Added Tax).

XMG has officially unveiled the EVO 14 and EVO 15 notebooks at Computex 2024. Both laptops come with the either the Inter Meteor Lake or AMD Ryzen 8000 Hawk Point CPUs.

XMG EVO 14: Starting with the smaller EVO 14, the laptop features a 14-inch display with a 3K resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, 400 nits of advertised brightness, and 100% coverage of the sRGB gamut. Driving the display is either a Core Ultra 7 155H with an integrated 8-core ARC GPU or a Ryzen 7 8845HS with a Radeon 780M iGPU. Additionally, XMG claims that the EVO 14 can sustain 65 W of power to the internals thanks to a dual-fan cooling solution aided by rear vents.

When it comes to port selection, the XMG EVO 14 rocks:

An HDMI out alongside an RJ45 jack on the back

Two Type-A and an SD card reader on the left

A USB 4/Thunderbolt 4, one Type-A, a 3.5 mm jack, and a Kensington port on the right

Finally, the XMG EVO 14 brings a large 80 Wh battery and weighs only 1.4 kg (3.1 lbs), making it a portable machine with potentially great battery life.

XMG EVO 15: Aside from a few differences, the XMG EVO 15 packs the same hardware specifications as the EVO 14. So, we are looking at the same port selection and an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H/AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor alongside up to 96 GB of RAM. The laptop also features a similar dual-fan air cooling solution aimed at keeping the temps in check at a sustained 65 W power draw.

The key differences between the XMG EVO 15 and the EVO 14 are the former’s bigger 99.8 Wh battery, edge-to-edge keyboard with a numpad, and a 15.3-inch panel that boasts 500 nits of brightness. XMG hasn’t revealed the resolution and the color space coverage target, so it is reasonable to assume the display is also 3K and aims to hit 100% sRGB.

Finally, the EVO 15 features the same port selection and weighs 1.65 kg (3.63 lbs).

XMG EVO 14 and 15 price: According to XMG, the base configurations of the EVO 14 and EVO 15 with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage start at €949 ($1,032) and €1,049 ($1,141) for the AMD variants respectively. SKUs with the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H cost €105 or $163 more. These prices include a 2-year warranty and 19% VAT.
