CANON

Powershot V10: the brand new camera perfect for vloggers

The newly released Canon PowerShot V10 is unusual in its design, but is capable of shooting 4K resolution video and includes a built-in tripod stand and high-quality microphone. The main purpose of the device is to make vlogs.

The camera is designed for use in an upright position and weighs only 211 grams. The PowerShot V10 compact camera features an f2.8 aperture wide-angle lens with a cinema-equivalent focal length of 18mm for stills and 19mm for video recording. The core of the camera is an inch CMOS sensor, which can be digitally stabilized.

Video recording is possible at 4K resolution, but at a maximum frame rate of 29.97 frames per second. Full HD video can be recorded at a rate of 59.94 frames per second. Video can be shot vertically or horizontally up to an hour long at a time. The camera has face-tracking autofocus and 14 different filters for quick style changes. The camera's flip-up LCD screen is two inches in size.

In addition to the picture, the camera paid attention to sound. The camera is equipped with two large microphones for sound recording and the third microphone for noise removal. There is a filter to deal with wind noise, and as an accessory you can also get separate wind shields for microphones. Connections to the outside world are managed through the Canon Camera Connect app. A Wi-Fi connection can be used to transfer footage, but the camera also has a USB-C and HDMI connection.

The camera will be sold in two versions with different equipment. The basic kit includes a power cable, a soft protective case, a lens cap, a windshield and a wrist strap. The price of this version is 499 euros. The second version includes, in addition to the previous ones, an accessory frame designed in cooperation with SmallRig (pictured above), to which you can connect a ring light or a separate microphone. The price of this set is 529 euros. Sales start in mid-June.
