Disney announces a robot skater

At the SXSW 2023 event, Disney unveiled a robot skater that can do incredible stunts. The robot was demonstrated as part of the Art and Science presentation.

During the demonstration, the robot came out of a wooden box by itself, falling on one of its sides. After falling on his ass, he was back on his feet in a matter of seconds. Then the robot showed how it could fall and how it could keep its balance. At the end of the performance, a Walt Disney employee placed it around his neck like a small child.

"This is our new attempt to create robots that we think can have an emotional connection with humans," said Tony Dohy, a company spokesman.
