Google, and the war against ChatGPT
An entire generation of people has already grown up with the certainty that Google dominates the internet search market, but with the launch of ChatGPT in November, the confidence of Alphabet behind the service was visibly shaken.
OpenAI's chatbot based on artificial intelligence can cope with shockingly complex tasks, so many believe that it will topple the decades-long dominance of Google, which operates with simple web results. This camp is also supported by Microsoft, who invested 10 billion dollars in ChatGPT, and according to reports, they also want to integrate the language model into the Bing search engine and their other services.
It's no wonder that Google has gone into crisis mode, and recently it was leaked that they are already testing their own chatbot called "Atlas", which they intend to use as a miracle weapon against ChatGPT. This seems to be confirmed by the search giant's recent announcement, according to which they will soon hold an event specifically focused on artificial intelligence.
The presentation, streamed from Paris, will begin on February 8, at 14:30 CET, and in the announcement, Google directly promises to rethink the search experience, making the process more natural and intuitive than ever before, not only in the search engine, but also in Google On the map and "beyond it".
From all of this, it seems that Alphabet is trying to boost its repertoire with a ChatGPT-like service. The likelihood of this is increased by the fact that in the company's recent financial report, CEO Sundar Pichai himself stated that as a search engine companion, people will be able to "interact directly" with the "newest, most powerful language models".
In Hungarian, we are looking forward to an exciting program that can officially start the chatbot war between Google and OpenAI/Microsoft, while products such as Translator, Google Lens glasses and other delicacies will also be discussed based on the invitation.
