As expected, the last major streaming service has arrived in Slovakia SkyShowtime. And to attract competitors' customers, such as Netflix and Disney+, thus offering an unbeatable starting price for a monthly subscription.
What content does SkyShowtime offer?...SkyShowtime offers a lot of content from major movie studios and their own services. In particular, you'll find titles from Universal Pictures, DreamWorks, Sky Studios, Peacock, Paramount+, Time to Start, Paramount Films to Nickelodeon. Recently, it even established cooperation with a competing service HBO Max, which will provide it with 12 European series of its own production.
In the service menu, you can find, for example, a Jurassic Park series and also its continuations of the Jurassic World series. Also includes last year's hit Top Gun: Maverick. Among the series, it is worth mentioning, for example, the titles directed and produced by the successful American showrunner Taylor Sheriden – 1883, 1923, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King and currently the most followed series in the USA Yellowstone.
How much does SkyShowtime cost?...The standard price for the service will be 5.99 euros per month. Until midnight April 11, however, it offers a promotional offer to new customers 50% off already 2.99 euros per month and practically forever until the customer cancels their subscriptions. If you later renew it again, you will pay the normal price. A similar promotion was offered by rival HBO Max when it entered the Slovakian market last year.
SkyShowtime you can stream via the app, on the web, or via a smart TV (sadly, Samsung's Tizen OS support is still lacking). As part of your subscription, you can create up to 5 unique user profiles including children's profiles. There is also the option to download content offline in HD quality and with Dolby 5.1 sound.
What are the prices of the competition?...Disney+ is available in Slovakia for 7.99 euros per month, in case of an annual subscription you will pay 79.90 euros. The current price of an HBO Max subscription is 6.99 euros per month. If you subscribe to the service for the whole year, you will pay 54.99 euros, which is based on 4.60 euros per month. AppleTV+ service is available from us for 6.99 euros per month.
Netflix he asks again 7.99 euros for a basic subscription, 9.99 euros for a standard subscription and 11.99 euros for a premium subscription. The basic subscription is for one user only and offers videos in 480p resolution only. The default subscription at 1080p resolution is for two users. The highest premium subscription in 4K resolution can be enjoyed by up to 4 people at the same time.
