Samsung has introduced new chipsets for mid-range smartphones - Exynos 1330 and Exynos 1380. Both processors are based on 5-nanometer process technology and are equipped with a 5G modem.
The Exynos 1380 includes four 2.4GHz Cortex-A78 cores and four 2GHz Cortex-A55 cores. As a graphic gas pedal, the Mali-G68 MP5 with 950 GHz is used. Support for Full HD+/144Hz displays, LPDDR4X/LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 storage is claimed.
As for camera capabilities, the Exynos 1380 supports camera sensors with a resolution of up to 200 megapixels. Smartphones based on the new chipset will be able to record video at 4K/30 fps with electronic image stabilization.
Exynos 1330, consists of two Cortex-A78 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores. Uses a Mali-G68 MP2 graphics processor. The chipset supports displays with a maximum resolution of Full HD+ and refresh rate up to 120 Hz. The memory compatibility is the same as the Exynos 1380. It also claims to support cameras with a maximum resolution of 108 megapixels. Video recording is available with a maximum resolution of 4K at 30 frames per second.
Exynos 1380 and Exynos 1330 are expected to debut in Galaxy A series smartphones this year.
