AMD
Yesterday vendors started releasing BIOS updates for their motherboards that support AMD Ryzen 7000X3D processors. But, as it turned out, in addition to support for new chips, the software got useful functionality.
It turns out that the new firmware allows you to control the X3D cores and assign the 3D V-Cache to any core on the chip.
As you know, the hybrid cache only works on one processor core, with the 3D V-Cache automatically selected in the BIOS and not controlled by the operating system and, of course, by the user. But now users can assign the 3D V-Cache cache to any Ryzen core, thus allowing the processor to run more efficiently.
This feature will be useful when your computer is performing specific tasks that only use certain topics. For example, the user can control the cache connection in work tasks where it is not the amount of memory that matters, but the mathematical performance. Furthermore, AMD has officially announced that cores without V-Cache are overclocked to higher clock speeds.
The BIOS currently exists in Beta version, but will soon be available to all owners - probably after February 28th, when the company will introduce the hybrid chips.
