QUALCOMM
A verified insider from Digital Chat Station confirmed that the introduction of two-way satellite communication technology on Android smartphones is expected this year and also added that it will not only appear on smartphones.
At CES 2023, Qualcomm demonstrated its satellite solution for two-way messaging. Qualcomm plans to implement this feature in flagship Android phones, and the first models using this solution will be released in the second half of this year.
Qualcomm's solution for two-way satellite communication will initially only be used for emergency messaging, it is reported. Qualcomm said the technology can be used in areas with weak signals, as well as in wild or rural areas.
The technology will first be implemented on smartphones before being extended to other platforms including laptops, tablets, IoT devices and cars.
Prior to that, satellite communication appeared on iPhone 14 and Huawei Mate 50 series smartphones.
Previously, Digital Chat Station was the first to accurately report the specifications and release dates of the Redmi K50, K60, Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 13.
