APPLE

On the night of January 23, Apple released operating system updates: iOS 16.3 users have already tried them and shared their impressions in our Telegram chat. In addition, macOS Ventura 13.2 was released – an update with new features and bug fixes for existing models of MacBook, iMac, Mac Studio and Mac mini. A little over a month has passed since the release of the last version, but do not worry: Apple switched to accelerated beta testing, but this practically does not affect the quality.
Usually, at this time, Apple releases small operating system updates, many users find them completely useless. On the contrary: Cupertinians correct their own shortcomings and even add useful features. Here's what's new in macOS Ventura Update.
Advanced iCloud data protection...Your iCloud data will be safe in case of leakage. Remember how accounts were massively hacked in the mid-2010s and photos were stolen? Now that won't happen: images, backups, map data and notes are now stored in encrypted form and are meaningless to hackers. You can activate it as follows.
-Go to System Preferences.
-Click on your account name and select iCloud.
-Click on “Advanced Data Protection” and enable it.
Let me remind you that in the previous version, the feature was only available for US users, but now it will be available for iPhone, iPad and Mac owners worldwide.
Apple ID Security Keys...You can now use a physical security key to sign in with your Apple ID in addition to your password and verification code. With a keycard, only the account owner has access to the account. Although the function is intended for high-ranking individuals who want to protect themselves, any owner of an iPhone or Mac can use it.
macOS security updates...macOS 13.2 beta was used to release the first security updates to the Threat Response feature. Now Mac owners do not have to wait for a full update to be released – the patch will be installed automatically, thanks to which the computer will be safe.
Other changes in macOS Ventura 13.2...Apple also fixed existing bugs in the new version of macOS that prevented users from using the computer safely and interfered with system performance.
Fixed a bug due to which Voice Over was unresponsive when entering text from the keyboard.
Freeform did not display finger or Apple Pencil strokes and writing on a whiteboard.
What's more, according to the bug fixes list, Apple found about 20 vulnerabilities in macOS that could give apps access to users' personal data.
Apple has not forgotten about owners of outdated devices. The company has released updates for macOS Big Sur and macOS Monterey that fix minor bugs and improve security.
As you can see, the list of improvements is quite modest, so most likely you won't even notice any changes after installing the update. Below we recall how to update macOS.
How to download macOS 13.2...If you're planning to upgrade, keep in mind that macOS upgrade weighs about 1.55 GB, so free up some space on your Mac if you don't have enough.
-Then go to computer settings.
-Go to “General”, select “Software Update”.
-Click Update Now. Enter an administrator password, if necessary.
During installation, your Mac may restart, display an installation icon, or just display a blank screen. Don't worry - this is normal. But before downloading the update, do not forget to create a backup so that if problems occur, you have the opportunity to restore your computer to a working state.
