The best action game of 2022

We only have a few successful thoroughbred action games (not action adventure games, that will come later!) this year. Even so, we managed to select a very disparate trio of titles, each standing out in a slightly different respect, but each deserving of an award in our opinion. So let's take a look at them!

3. Mixed: Call of Duty...Modern Warfare II...While we agreed during the selection that this year's installment doesn't quite reach the qualities of 2019's branded Modern Warfare reboot, it's still one of the best Call of Duty of recent years. While the campaign sometimes struggles with pacing, often relies on situations already experienced, and the crafting implementation is downright bizarre, Modern Warfare II takes home the prize primarily for great multiplayer, improved Warzone 2.0, and the new DMZ mode.

Developers at Infinity Ward studio have proven once again that they are the most capable team looking after the Call of Duty brand, and Modern Warfare II is a very rich package of content that some members of the editorial team will be happy to spend time with throughout the year.

2nd place: Bayonetta 3...The sorceress Cereze, better known as Bayonetta, took a while to return to our screens, and at certain times the silence on the part of PlatinumGames became quite suspicious. But in the end, the good work was done and the third Bayonetta is exactly what fans of the brand dreamed of. The authors do not hesitate at all and constantly spew one pompous and absurdly megalomaniac moment after another at the players.

Bayonetta has gained new demonic minions, perhaps even more sex appeal, and the usual fantastic pace that won't let you breathe for a moment. At the same time, it proved that the Switch's limitations are already pretty tight for it, so where's the strongest console, dear Nintendo?

#1: Vampires Survivors...The best action game in our poll this year is, at first glance, surprisingly... no action. The player is content with motion control alone, so waving the analog stick or tapping WASD can have a calming effect. But it's a mistake, leggings, Vampire Survivors can portray such a naked woman on the screen that everyone can only envy them!

Add to that effective and very satisfying skill synergies, tons of unlockable bonuses and secrets, and a constant desire to improve, and you have game fodder that is simply unrivaled in its ability to hook this year. A truly excellent experience worthy of a gold medal.
