Chinese giant has already successfully completed major tests of 6G cellular networks

It takes about 10 years to launch a new generation of mobile networks. Recall that 4G networks were launched in 2009, and 5G technology appeared in 2019. That is, the mass introduction of 6G will begin in 2029. But developers are already testing the new technology. The other day, there was news on the web that the ZTE Corporation IT company had successfully completed key tests.

The company tested various network metrics, but the results were not released. One thing is certain: the data transfer rate will increase significantly. About 16 billion yuan (US$2.23 billion) was spent on 6G research, which represents nearly 17% of ZTE's operating profit for the year, although previously 10% of operating profit was spent for this purpose.

While China is already testing technical samples of 6G, Europe and the United States are just preparing for such tests. Ericsson is investing millions of pounds into 6G research in the UK. For this, a special research group will be formed, in addition to the 17 groups that operate in 12 countries.

By the way, in addition to ZTE, 6G technology is being tested by Samsung and Xiaomi.
