How to Transfer Files from Mac to Android

Mac computers are among the most productive solutions on the market. Many users choose them for seamless hardware and software collaboration. When you buy Apple Computer, you can be sure that you are buying one of the best devices in its class. But the same cannot be said for iPhones. Therefore, many users choose smartphones from other manufacturers or get them as office phones. Anyway, I want the files between a computer and a smartphone to be transferable smoothly.

Fortunately, as in the case of the iPhone, for transferring files from mac to android there are many different options. This material has gathered all the most convenient ways to quickly transfer any documents from Mac to Android smartphone.

Android File Transfer — macOS...The simplest way to transfer files from mac to android – that, of course, is to connect a wired smartphone to a computer. Unfortunately, just by doing this operation and activating the data transfer mode on the smartphone, my old iMac 21.5 did not see Xiaomi. Therefore, in any case, you will have to use additional software.

Android file transfer app allows you to conveniently transfer documents between your computer and smartphone if you have a USB cable at hand. The program works as follows:

As you can see, no additional configuration needs to be done. The app does this very well on its own. The main thing is to simply install it and all the necessary parameters will be set automatically.

But what if there is no wire at hand? Then there are several wireless and quite fast ways. The first, the simplest and does not require additional software, is Bluetooth. Yes, you didn't think so. The good old Bluetooth allows you to calmly transfer documents between computer and smartphone without any wires. It is on iPhone that Bluetooth does not support document transfer, but on Android there is no problem with that. Taking into account the fact that all modern and not very modern Macs have a built-in Bluetooth module, we can safely recommend this method to everyone for a few small or unique files.

How to transfer files via Bluetooth...Transfer document via Bluetooth from Mac to Android can be done as follows:

-Turn on Bluetooth on your Android smartphone.

-Open Bluetooth settings on your Mac and wait for the computer to find your smartphone.

-Click on the “Connect” button.

Wait until the same code appears on your smartphone and computer screen and agree to the connection.

On your Mac's status bar, click the Bluetooth icon and move your mouse over the connected smartphone.

In the drop-down menu, click “Send file to device…”.

Select a file and click the “Upload” button.

Receive the document on your smartphone and wait for the transfer to complete.

Very simple and fast way. Sadly, in 2022, many have forgotten about him, albeit not deservedly.

Apple AirDrop

AirDrop on Android...However, on a Mac, there is another great way to transfer documents between devices – this is AirDrop. It is true that it only works between iPhones, iPads and Macs. To my surprise, third-party developers have created a program similar in essence and appearance to AirDrop and it's called AirDroid. You can transfer a file using it as follows:

-Download AirDroid App on Mac by this link.

-Download AirDroid for smartphone from Google Play.

-Connect your smartphone and computer to the same Wi-Fi network.

-On your smartphone, press the “Skip” button to skip registration.

-Click “Quick Transfer” on your Mac to start searching for devices.

Once your Mac finds your phone, open it and simply drag and drop the required document into the window that opens.

Open AirDroid on your smartphone and click on the clock in the upper right corner. The downloaded file will be displayed there. It can be transferred to any app that interests you or sent immediately via instant messengers and social networks.

But this is not the last way to transfer data between Android and Mac. There is also iCloud, which, as many believe, is not suitable for Android. This opinion is fundamentally wrong, so let's use Apple's cloud to transfer files:

-On a Mac, through Finder, open the iCloud Drive folder and place the file you need there.

-On a smartphone through any browser, access the web version of iCloud.

-Select the iCloud Drive section.

-In the folder you need you will find the file you downloaded earlier.

-Download to smartphone memory for future work.

As you can see, everything is quite quick and simple. Many people think that Apple computer owners are obligated to use iPhones. But, as practice shows, this is not necessary.
