Qualcomm lança chip Snapdragon 782G para smartphones intermediários

Semiconductor giant introduced the SD 782G single-chip mobile platform

Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 782G single-chip mobile platform for mid-range smartphones. The novelty is a cosmetic update of the Snapdragon 778G+ model.

Similar to its predecessor, the new processor is manufactured using 6nm process technology, has eight Kryo 670 cores and an Adreno 642L graphics core. The Snapdragon 782G includes a Kryo 670 Prime core (ARM Cortex-A78) running at 2.7 GHz (200 MHz faster than the Snapdragon 778G+), three Kryo 670 Gold cores (Cortex-A78) up to 2.2 GHz, as well like four Kryo 670 Silver cores (Cortex-A55) clocked up to 1.9 GHz. Thanks to the increased frequency of the most powerful core, the performance of the Snapdragon 782G is about 5% higher than its predecessor. At the same time, the graphics performance of the new chip is increased by 10%, that is, the GPU has also been overclocked, although this is not specified.

Like the previous chip, the novelty supports Quick Charge 4+ fast charging technology, which allows you to recharge your smartphone's battery by up to 50% in 15 minutes. Additionally, the new processor uses the same Fused AI Accelerator architecture, the same Qualcomm Spectra ISP signal processor with bitrates of up to 2 gigapixels per second, and supports cameras up to 200 MP. The modem on the Snapdragon 782G also remained the same. This is a Snapdragon X53 with 5G support in the sub-6GHz band and mmWave. Also announced is the FastConnect 6700 module with support for Wi-Fi 6 at speeds of up to 2.9 Gb/s and Bluetooth 5.2.

Qualcomm did not disclose which smartphone will be the first to receive the Snapdragon 782G processor. It is very likely that it will be the Honor 80, whose announcement, according to the GSMArena portal, will take place on November 23.
