Mate 50 will have a new version that arrives on the 10th of November
Huawei announced that on November 10, a new version of the Huawei Mate 50 will go on sale in China with Kunlun branded protective glass, which was originally only available on the Huawei Mate 50 Pro model.
According to an official statement, Huawei Kunlun Glass is 10 times stronger than ordinary glass. This glass protects both the front panel and the back of the smartphone. To demonstrate the protective capabilities of glass, Huawei has already smashed nuts on the camera.
Through the addition of composite particles, Kunlun's glass panel contains hundreds of billions of high-strength nanocrystals, which increase impact and crack resistance. Huawei Kunlun Glass has received the industry's first Swiss five-star drop-resistance certification from SGS.
The smartphones will be available in Frost Silver, Streamer Purple and Obsidian Black with 256GB and 512GB of storage for $795 and $930 respectively.
The Huawei Mate 50 has a 6.7-inch 90Hz OLED display with 10-bit color depth. The main and ultra wide-angle cameras are the same (including variable aperture), but the telephoto lens resolution is 12 MP (f/2.4), while the smartphone offers a 5x optical zoom. The battery has a capacity of 4460 mAh. It runs on HarmonyOS 3.0 operating system.
