Anúncio do USB4 versão 2.0 com transferência de dados de 80 Gbps

Company announced the next release of the USB4 Version 2.0 specification

USB Promoter Group has announced the upcoming release of the USB4 Version 2.0 specification, which will increase the transfer rate to 80Gbps over USB Type-C cable, double that of USB4 Version 1 and Thunderbolt 4.

It is reported that the developers of the new USB4 Version 2.0 standard were able to achieve this throughput by using an updated physical layer architecture and improving the data transfer protocol, which started to work more efficiently.

The USB Type-C and USB Power Delivery (USB PD) specifications will also be updated to provide faster data transfer speeds. According to preliminary data, the specification changes will be published before November of this year, when the USB DevDays developer forum will be held.

The USB 3.2, DisplayPort, and PCI Express data tunneling protocols have also been updated. Key features of the updated USB4 specification include the ability to handle up to 80Gb/s transfer rate based on a new physical layer architecture, using existing 40Gb/s USB Type-C passive cables and new active USB Type-C cables . -C at 80 Gbps.

USB4 Version 2.0 contains updated data transfer protocols to better take advantage of increased bandwidth. The new standard is also backwards compatible with USB4 version 1.0, USB 3.2, USB 2.0 and Thunderbolt 3.

The USB Promoter Group says the new standard should be published before USB DevDays scheduled for November. Therefore, devices that support USB4 Version 2.0 should be expected as early as next year.
