The Insta360 X3 is equipped with a 1/2 inch CMOS sensor. It can record 5.7K spherical videos, create 8K time-lapses, and take 72-megapixel photos.

The new 360° camera is equipped with two 6.7mm F/1.9 lenses at the front and back. New to photo mode it can create images with a resolution of 72 megapixels 11968×5984 pixels or 18 megapixels 5952×2976 pixels, saving them in DNG RAW or INSP formats.

Adjusting the ISO sensitivity is possible in the range from 100 to 3200 units, the shutter allows you to work with shutter speeds from 1/8000 to 120 seconds. Continuous shooting, interval shooting, Starlapse and HDR mode are also available.

The Instra360 X3 camera can record in one of three LOG color profiles (Vivid, Standard or Color) by selecting the following video formats and resolutions:

360° mode (inv format):

5.7K (5760 × 2880) at 30/25/24 fps.

4K (3840×1920) at 60/30 fps.

Single lens mode (mp4 format):

4K (3840×2160) at 30/25/24 fps

3.6K (3584×2016) at 60/50/30/25/24 fps

2.7K (2720×1530) at 60/50/30/25/24 fps

1080p (1920×1088) at 60/50/30/25/24 fps

It is reported that you can further improve the video quality using the new mode - ActiveHDR. This mode uses an innovative (proprietary) algorithm to stabilize video footage, minimize ghosting and enhance detail. Along with this, FlowState stabilization and HorizonLock horizon leveling will be available, which ensures maximum stability of the footage.

4 microphones and a new improved algorithm are responsible for recording sound on Insta360 X3. According to the manufacturer, the sound recorded on the X3 will be clear, natural and balanced. With the updated driving focus mode, the audio will follow the frame even during reframing, also stated in the press release.

There are also automatic video recording functions in the camera. Of these, it is worth noting the new convenient loop recording mode, which turns the X3 camera into a DVR. In this mode, the camera records video continuously, but only saves the last few minutes according to the set interval.

Also available on the Insta360 X3 is a new 'Me' mode that lets you take selfies at 60 fps by removing the selfie stick from the frame. Plus, there's a slow-motion effect like "Bullet Time", which now looks more cinematic, thanks to the ability to record in 4K 120 fps or 3K 180 fps.

It is reported that you can expand camera capabilities with Insta360 and Insta360 Studio apps.

Insta360 X3 - can interact with devices running iOS and Android operating systems through the Insta360 app. In addition to the usual editing tools, users will have access to a number of other functions, including, for example:

Auto Frame: AI finds the best parts of 360-degree videos, giving users a variety of reworked clips to choose from.

Snap Wizard: Just move your smartphone to find the right video angle.

Deep Track0: Select a person, animal or other moving object in the frame and the AI ​​will focus the frame only on them.

Photo Animator: Turn 360° still photos into animated videos with just one tap. There is a facial recognition function based on artificial intelligence and preset effects. The app can animate your photos.

Shot Lab: A tool to create short and fun videos for social media. Just choose a template and follow the simple instructions.

FlashCut: Create cool videos with just one tap. Choose your favorite FlashCut theme and the clips you want, and then the AI ​​will assemble them. FlashCut blends your clips to the beat of the music, giving your content that extra factor.

Furthermore, all post-processing of the footage can be performed on a PC in a proprietary application - Insta360 Studio. It has a keyframe function and familiar editing tools that will help you create interesting content without losing quality.

The Insta360 X3 is a very compact action camera measuring 11.4 x 4.6 x 3.3 cm and weighing 180 grams. Of the wireless technologies, there is Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 5 GHz. The novelty is equipped with a new large 2.29-inch touchscreen. It should make it a lot easier to navigate through the menus and when working with the framing of your photos.

For users used to using action cameras with gloves, the Insta360 X3 has four physical buttons with vibration feedback, two on the front and two on the right, to control the camera in addition to the screen. The camera also supports voice control.

On the left side of the Insta360 X3 case there is a compartment in which a new 1800 mAh battery is installed. According to the manufacturer, it is capable of providing the camera for 81 minutes. The battery can be fully charged in 90 minutes (5V/3A) via the USB-C port.

Recording is carried out on microSD memory cards, the slot for them is located on the right side of the camera body. And there's a 1/4"-20 attachment point on the bottom, allowing you to attach the Insta360 X3 to a selfie stick, helmet, or any moving vehicle.

The Insta360 X3 is capable of shooting in temperatures from -20 to 40°C, can withstand immersion in water to a depth of 10 meters, and its screen is covered with durable tempered glass. You can also protect your lenses by attaching durable magnetic lenses, which are also available for purchase.

The Insta360 X3 camera itself is now available for $450.

Let me also remind you that the other day there was the announcement of a new Fujifilm camera - X-H2. It is the first camera in the X-mount system to feature a 40.2-megapixel sensor, the latest Fujifilm X-Processor 5 Series, and 8K ProRes RAW 422 video recording.
