APPLE

Há rumores de que o Phone 14 pode perder cartões SIM físicos

iPhone 14: some versions of the gadget will not receive physical SIM cards

There are still a few days to go before the iPhone 14 is announced, and there are more and more similarities about future smartphones. XDA Developers news resource insider and editor Max Weinbach said that some smartphone versions will not receive physical SIM cards.

According to him, we are talking about operator models and so far only in the United States. When purchasing, operators will no longer package the card that offers an eSIM. In this case, the slot for a physical card will remain, but it will have to be purchased separately.

Regardless, it looks like the days of the iPhone SIM tray are numbered. It is possible that Apple is thus pushing users towards fully virtual cards. However, eSIM support has been around on the iPhone for a number of years, and previously there were rumors that the iPhone 15 might even lose the physical card tray and wired charging connector.

Note that using eSIM allows you to use multiple numbers on one phone and you won't have to constantly change cards in the tray. On the other hand, many users fear that operators will have more access to the phone.
