APPLE

iOS 16 introduces five useful features that many users may not know about (see below)

If you go to YouTube, you can find many videos that iOS 16 is the most serious OS update in recent times. In fact, it is not so: there is nothing revolutionary about it. In fact, this is the same iOS 15, but slightly redesigned. At a glance, you will see that there are no differences. But no: iOS 16 brings useful features

New iOS 16 wallpapers...Many have noticed that lock screen is customizable now is different and contains widgets. To tell you the truth, they still don't make much sense, but the stock screensavers are really cool. For example, the “Earth” screensaver is not just a picture of the planet: it shows its location with a green dot! For that, however, you need to give access to geolocation, and every time you use the lock screen, it starts working, eating the battery. This doesn't work with the moon screensaver, but overall the idea is very interesting.

By the way, Apple has solved everything down to the smallest detail: dynamic wallpaper, so when you unlock it, your location increases. Also, you may notice that the sun appears in the upper left corner of the screen and gradually moves to the right(image above). In general, a little, but good! It is a pity that in the horizontal position the wallpaper is not displayed.

Weather app in iOS 16... Externally the weather app is no different than it was in iOS 15: the same animation, the same widget. But now when you click on the map icon in the lower left corner, you get sediment charts displayed in real time! And when you click on the forecast for the day of the week, you will see complete information about the temperature with a graph.

Click on the thermometer icon on the right to change the reading: for example, select “Sensation of” or “Humidity”, “Visibility” or view a precipitation graph for a specific day of the week. They say a full Weather app should also appear in iPadOS 16 – that was definitely not enough!

Music widget on lock screen...In iOS 16 redesigned and music player widget on lock screen: now a close-up of a track or podcast is taken out of the cover and placed right in the middle of the screen, and the widget navigation is located directly below it. It is worth mentioning that the rest of the screen space is painted in the color of the cover itself!

If you wish, you can click on it – then it will collapse into a square in the music control panel, and the wallpaper and widgets you have installed will be displayed on the home screen. When you click on the name of a track or podcast, you will be immediately transferred to the app itself.

Share audio with AirPods...iOS 16 has added another cool feature – improved interaction with AirPods. Now, when listening to music, you can open the Control Center and click the headphone icon in the music widget and then again. This will open a menu with a “Share Audio” option: you will not only be able to share your music with another pair of AirPods or Beats, but also with another iPhone, iPad or Mac that your current headphones are connected to. Then you can “give” music from your phone! Note that the chip will work with a device that also has iOS 16 installed.

By the way, the AirPods themselves are now much easier to configure: when the headphones are plugged in, they show up on the main iPhone Settings page. No more looking for AirPods Settings somewhere on Bluetooth! And right in this paragraph there is information about the firmware of the headphones and the AirPods case: from there, you can go to Apple's support page to find out how the software is installed.

Manage the upcoming iOS 16...Have you noticed how actively Apple is pumping up the ecosystem? One of the new features in iOS 16 is Manage Nearby Devices, which was already hidden in Universal Access. With its help, you can connect any device to iPhone that uses the same iCloud to manage it.

So you can unlock iPad remotely or other gadget, if locked, control music if playing something. Unfortunately, the developers have not yet provided a quick activation of this function, so you can only add the Universal Access shortcut to the Control Center. Both devices must be running iOS 16 or iPadOS 16.
