Amazon introduziu tablets atualizados Fire HD 8

E-commerce giant announced updated versions of the Fire HD 8 family of branded tablets

Amazon has announced updated versions of the brand's Fire HD 8 family of tablets, namely the new Fire HD 8, Fire HD 8 Plus, Fire HD 8 Kids and Fire HD 8 Kids Pro models. New products have become thinner, lighter and faster. Sales will start next month.

Amazon said the Fire HD 8 is 30% faster than the previous version. Battery life is 13 hours, an hour longer than its predecessor. The device's battery is charged via the USB-C port. It takes five hours to fully recharge the battery. Amazon also claims the Fire HD 8 is twice as strong as the iPad Mini in drop tests.

All Fire HD 8 series tablets received an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1280 × 800 pixels, as well as an unnamed six-core processor clocked up to 2 GHz. The base version of the tablet has 2 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of flash memory. There is also a slot for memory cards up to 1TB. The specs also include front and rear cameras with 2-megapixel resolution, as well as a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Fire HD 8 Plus tablet fully charges in three hours and has 3GB of RAM. Flash memory here is also 32 or 64 GB, and there's also a microSD slot for cards up to 1 TB. Furthermore, the Fire HD 8 Plus supports wireless charging and is equipped with 2-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras.

The Fire HD 8 Kids and Fire HD 8 Kids Pro models are basically just a regular Fire HD 8 with an included glossy protective case that provides drop protection. Amazon also offers a two-year extended warranty for these tablets, so if kids break it, the company promises to replace the device for free. The Kids model is aimed at younger ages (3-7 years old), has no app store and comes with a thicker case. The Kids Pro model for ages 6-12 has an app store with parental controls and a slimmer case.

Tablets for kids also have a one-year subscription to Amazon Kids+, which provides access to books, apps, and games. By paying $10, the user will have access to Disney content. There are also parental controls, including those that allow you to limit the time your child can spend on the tablet.

Amazon also said that Fire tablets will have a Tap to Alexa feature that lets you use Alexa with a tap instead of your voice. This feature will be useful for speech-impaired users.

Amazon Fire HD 8 is $99, Fire HD 8 Plus is $119, Fire HD 8 Kids and Fire HD 8 Kids Pro are $149.
