Xiaomi 13 will have new 50MP Sony IMX8XX series sensor

A well-known member of Digital Chat Station said that the main camera of the standard version of the Xiaomi 13 will have a new 50-megapixel Sony IMX8XX series sensor, not the IMX707 as in the Xiaomi 12S.

The sensor size of the Xiaomi 13's main camera will be between Sony IMX766 (1/1.56 inch) and Sony IMX707 (1/1.28 inch), maybe around 1/1.4 inch. This will allow it to surpass the size of the 1/1.65-inch optical format sensor found in the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Thanks to the larger sensor area, the Xiaomi 13's light sensitivity will be better than that of the Xiaomi 12S, allowing you to capture bright, clear images in lower lighting conditions.

It is also reported that the Xiaomi 13 will return to a flat screen, whose diagonal will be 6.36 inches with FullHD + resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The smartphone will be built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 single-chip system. Presumably, its announcement will take place in November.

The same source said that smartphones based on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with Sony IMX989 image sensor, which debuted on Xiaomi 12S Ultra, will soon appear on the market.
