The first Samsung device to run Android 12L software is the new Galaxy Z Fold4. Now, a big-screen version of Android is coming to Samsung tablets, starting with the Tab S8 series.
The update has already started in Europe. The firmware numbers are: X70xBXXU2AVH2 for Galaxy Tab S8, X80xBXXU2AVH5 for Galaxy Tab S8+ and X90xBXXU2AVH2 for Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. The update is available for the Wi-Fi-only and 5G tablet versions. The firmware includes the August 2022 security patch.
The taskbar feature allows you to quickly switch between apps and launch them (including app pairs in split screen mode) without having to use DeX mode. Additionally, a two-finger gesture can be used to switch between full-screen and split-screen modes. Opening the application in a floating window is also an option.
The update allows the Tab S8 to copy text from images (Chinese, French, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish are supported in addition to English). Smart actions will appear next to the text, for example you can copy a number from a photo from a business card. The My Files app can search for information in files, including text in images.
Samsung Internet Browser allows you to rearrange your favorite websites by dragging and dropping (favorites can also be sorted), you can set a collection of images as your lock screen wallpaper and edit the collection later.
