Microsoft Defender: O que já era bom ficou ainda melhor

Microsoft Defender now has ransomware protection

Microsoft had already promised: with Microsoft Defender, the company wants to end ransomware, arguably one of the most dangerous computer threats in recent years. No one actually takes it lightly anymore.

Microsoft rightly believes that it has a role to play in this case and is now starting to present solutions. In its latest publication, the publisher announces a new Defender update for Windows 11, which has a clear focus on security. Thus, the Redmond company claims to have "improved Microsoft Defender for Endpoint's ability to identify and intercept ransomware and advanced attacks."

With the latest update, Microsoft confirms the rise of ransomware in the cybersecurity environment. In fact, let's remember the essentials here when we are faced with this type of attack. All organizations, and researchers, agree on one point: it is imperative, whatever happens, never to pay the requested ransom. On the one hand, it does not guarantee the recovery of your data and on the other hand, it comforts hackers with the idea that these attacks are not effective.

Other improvements can be found in this Microsoft Defender update for Windows 11, of which here are the release notes:

-Improved ability of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint to identify and intercept ransomware and advanced attacks

-Compress files regardless of size if SMB compression is configured

-Improved storage replication that occurs over low-bandwidth or congested Wide Area Networks (WANs)

Finally, here are the issues fixed by the company in Microsoft Defender:

-Windows showed tablet mode functions for some devices that don't have a touchscreen

-Some application windows had empty sections in task view

-The error code is 0x80070026 when copying files

-Token leak in LsapGetClientInfoEx

sihost.exe kept using a lot of CPU resources

-Microsoft Edge became unresponsive when using IE mode
