GREEN KINOKO

O incomum sistema de resfriamento de nitrogênio líquido da Kinsho está pronto para testes

Israeli startup creates liquid nitrogen-based outdoor air conditioner

An Israeli startup with the Japanese name "Green Kinoko" has announced an open trial of an external liquid nitrogen-based cooling system. One of Tel Aviv's biggest cafes has been chosen as the venue, the dates are late August and early September this year. It is assumed that one unit will be able to maintain a comfortable temperature for several tables for 7 to 10 days.

Meteorologists predict that the heat on the planet will only intensify and energy shortages are forcing consumers to pay attention to exotic cooling designs. Liquid nitrogen is stored in a thermos at -196℃, but when it changes from liquid to gas, it expands 700 times, which allows it to be sprayed at -10℃ in small doses and quickly cool a small space. If this is done infrequently and carefully, using a fan, this technology will be safe for people.

The cost of a bottle of liquid nitrogen, according to Green Kinoko, is $50 to $60, while the installation consumes minimal energy compared to an air conditioner. There are some logistical difficulties as today liquid nitrogen is mainly used by doctors and scientists, but if the demand for cooling plants increases, manufacturers will certainly cater to the market. The liquefaction of nitrogen requires energy, but the source of raw materials is infinite - in the Earth's atmosphere, the nitrogen content reaches 78%.

According to the founders of Green Kinoko, they have already received orders from 40 countries for trial deliveries of their coolers. Mass production could be implemented before mid-2023, in addition to difficulties in complying with safety measures. Most people have no idea how to deal with liquid nitrogen, which is fraught with burns, freezing, and choking; therefore, before releasing the technology to the masses, you need to make sure that it is reliable.
