Brand announces new 20TB SkyHawk AI hard drive

Seagate presented the main hard drive of the SkyHawk AI family: the device has a capacity of 20 TB and will cost around US$ 530. The novelty can be used in corporate video systems containing up to 64 high definition cameras. In addition, the unit is suitable for analyzing materials using artificial intelligence (AI).

The product is made in the LFF format with dimensions of 26.11 × 101.85 × 146.99 mm. The weight is approximately 680 g. Conventional magnetic recording (CMR) technology is used. The hard drive is designed for uninterrupted operation and charges up to 550TB per year. With ImagePerfect AI firmware, the unit ensures high reliability and frame-free recording.

Up to 32 additional AI video streams are supported. SkyHawk Health Management (SHM) software improves overall productivity. The device comes with a three-year subscription to Rescue Data Recovery Services. MTBF reaches 2 million hours.
