Galaxy S22 Ultra, S22+, S22 US pricing revealed in new leak

The Galaxy S22 series is expected to debut in a few weeks and a new leak has now provided the first look yet at pricing for the trio of flagship phones in the US. Prices see a US$100 jump versus the Galaxy S21 series across the board, sadly.

Samsung is expected to debut the Galaxy S22 series at an Unpacked event on February 8. While details of the phone have slowly leaked over the past few months, pricing for the US has been unknown, but that appears to have changed.

Leaker @chunvn8888 has now revealed pricing for the Galaxy S22 series in the US. It appears, however, that the Galaxy S22 series will be more expensive than the Galaxy S21 lineup was. The leaker claims that the Galaxy S22 will start at US$899, US$100 more than the base Galaxy S21 was.

The Samsung Galaxy S22+ is touted to begin at US$1099, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra will start at a whopping US$1299. That indicates a US$100 price bump across the board, which is unlikely to go down well with fans of the series. The leaker claims that Samsung blames this jump in pricing on the global chip shortage. Considering how prices of materials across all sectors look to have climbed as well, it's a pretty decent excuse. There'll always be the feeling that the global chip shortage is a convenient blame victim, though.
