Edge has new debugging features
Memory leaks are a common problem in programming. The end result is that some code manages memory incorrectly and does not release it upon completion. To resolve this issue, Microsoft has released a new tool in its Edge browser that provides developers with debugging capabilities.
In a blog post, Microsoft explained that Edge DevTools' Detached Elements tool will allow users to investigate DOM (Document Object Model) leaks. The tool will show the developer a list of items that require attention, which he can investigate further.
Microsoft has published a demo chat app for developers to test individual elements of it through Edge. The company's blog post also includes a comprehensive set of instructions explaining how users can detect memory leaks in real-world applications using the new product.
Detached Elements has been available for Edge browser since version 97.
