VKontakte social network launches video library for VK Video platform

It's a free video content library that includes movies, TV shows, TV series, sports games and more. Social network representatives spoke about this to 3DNews.

All content is divided into several categories – “TV Show”, “Children”, “Video Games”, “Sports” and others. All videos are available to users for free. You can view the updated section in the web version or in the “Services” tab of the mobile app.

In addition, the developers claim to have updated the content search engine. The company implemented machine learning and semantic search technologies to improve the relevance of its videos. VKontakte also allowed content creators to sort videos by themed playlists for easy viewing.

The social network also shared statistics from the VK Video platform. According to the developers, up to 250 million videos are uploaded to it annually, of which 80% are user-generated content. In addition, the company produces more than 50 exclusive products for users of the service.
