Google Phone now available on Xiaomi smartphones
The Google Phone app is popular, but not available on all Android smartphones. However, developers are gradually expanding the list of supported devices and adding new features. This time, network sources reported that support for call recording appeared on the Google Phone app on Xiaomi smartphones.
Google started working on this feature a long time ago. The first mentions of it were discovered by enthusiasts in January of this year, and then they also managed to activate it. As you might expect, call recording support first appeared on Google Pixel smartphones and then became available to users of some Nokia models created as part of the Android One initiative. Now, the network source says the call recording tool has started to spread among device owners of Chinese company Xiaomi.
It must be said that Xiaomi smartphones running their own MIUI shell come with an integrated call recording tool. However, the company's latest smartphones sold outside China, India and Indonesia have Google Phone and Google Messages preinstalled, which have replaced Xiaomi equivalents.
According to reports, the function of recording conversations on Google Phone is now available to owners of global versions of the Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 9S and Redmi Note 9 Pro smartphones. This is reported by users on thematic forums, adding that in some cases the function disappears after restarting the device. It looks like Google is testing the ability to record calls and, later, it will become ubiquitous.
