MICROSOFT

Company is already working on flexible Android smartphones

Microsoft's first two-screen Android smartphone, the Surface Duo, is not yet commercially available, but it is now possible to order it. According to reports, the manufacturer is already working on a latest generation foldable smartphone.
The source said Microsoft is recruiting employees to adapt the Android operating system for dual-screen devices. It should also be noted that a development team has already been formed, whose members will be committed to creating updates and support for the Surface Duo. The smartphone will come with Android 10, but later, when Google officially launches Android 11, the foldable platform Microsoft smartphone software will be updated.
As Microsoft has dual screen devices, the latest generation Android smartphone, which can be called Surface Duo 2, is already in development. Note that this device has the code name “Zeta”, but because it is in one of the stages initial development, there is no more detailed information about it yet.
Although the development of the latest generation foldable smartphone is already underway, its announcement should occur only in the second half of next year. Since the launch of the Surface Neo dual-screen tablet running Windows 10X has been postponed to 2022, it may make sense for Microsoft to launch a new Android smartphone in the second half of 2021.
