Notifications for users about new videos from the platform will disappear
Google, the owner of the popular YouTube video service, has opted out of receiving email notifications for new videos and live streams from subscribed channels. The reason for this decision is that the notifications sent by YouTube are opened by a minimum number of users of the service.
A post on the Google support website says that less than 0.1% of YouTube users open YouTube notifications. The developers are also said to have carried out tests, during which they found that the refusal to send notifications does not in any way affect the length of the video viewing on YouTube. It is noted that recently YouTube users have become more likely to start watching videos through push notifications and news feed.
"According to our data, users opened less than 0.1% of emails with notifications of new content. In addition, we received a lot of comments stating that there are a lot of emails of this type. We hope this update makes it easier for you follow the mandatory service account notices and other YouTube messages. Your innovation will not affect, ”- said in a message posted on the Google support website.
Users will be able to learn more about the emergence of new content through other notifications, including on the YouTube mobile app or the Google Chrome browser.
