Chrome will end fake websites
Google announced the test of a new website display system in the browser's address bar. Now, instead of full addresses, the application will only display the domain name. This is reported on the developer's blog.
It is assumed that the new system will help protect users from phishing attacks. Hackers often create fake URLs with typos (for example, twittter.com, which uses an extra letter t), making the sites look real. Sometimes, users enter their personal data, passwords and payment information.
Developers will test the new feature among users of Chrome 86. The company wants to understand how innovation helps users recognize fraudulent websites and phishing links. If the utility of a new feature is confirmed, it can be added continuously.

Previously, Google announced its intention to create a system to alert people to earthquakes. It will send notifications to users in case of danger. To this end, the company plans to have access to installed seismographs and, where none, to use accelerometers on Android smartphones. So far, the service only works in California (USA).
