ROYOLE

Chinese brand presents foldable smartphone with very interesting hardware

Royole Corporation gained fame a few years ago when it launched the FlexPai, a flexible screen smartphone. In March of this year, its successor was announced - FlexPai 2. It is true that there were no details on the new product, but it was announced that it would not be on sale until the second quarter of 2020. The deadlines have passed, but due to the pandemic of COVID-19, the smartphone was never launched. But now new details have started to emerge about the technical characteristics of this device.
During the March announcement, Royole Corporation announced that the successor to the first flexible smartphone on the market will receive the new 3rd generation Cicada Wing Fully Flexible display. Its unfolded dimensions will be 7.8 inches and the aspect ratio will be 4: 3.
According to Digital Chat Station, a well-known insider in Chinese circles, the FlexPai 2's screen resolution is 1920 × 1440 pixels. It is built with OLED technology, but is ready to offer only a standard frequency of 60 Hz. The source also points out that the device is based on the Snapdragon 865 processor and is equipped with 12 GB of RAM. There is no information on the size of the flash drive, but Royole announced in March that the smartphone will use UFS 3.0 memory
The smartphone will have four cameras. The main sensor resolution is 64 megapixels. In addition, sensors of 16, 8 and 32 megapixels are allocated. Very impressive setup, especially considering that the original FlexPai offered a set of dual 16 and 20 MP cameras.
According to the source, the battery capacity of the novelty is 4450 mAh. When unfolded, the device is 6.4 mm thick and weighs 340 grams. Unfortunately, nothing has been reported about when the device will hit the market.
