Google+ users will receive compensation for data breach

Although the Google+ social network has ceased to exist, it still remembers itself. According to online sources, Google has agreed to pay $5 million to resolve a class action lawsuit in the event of a data leak from 50 million social network users due to "software bugs". Despite the fact that the incident occurred in 2018, his consideration continued until recently.
Although the total amount of payments seems quite impressive, each user whose data was compromised during the aforementioned incident will receive a modest compensation of around 2. The final amount of payments will depend on how many users of the social network will submit compensation requests.
It should be noted that users who receive compensation will not be able to file any lawsuit with Google in the future in this case. Google has already sent notifications to users about the possibility of receiving compensation. User requests on this subject will be accepted until October 8 this year.
Users who had a Google+ account between January 1, 2015 and April 2, 2019 can request monetary compensation. In addition, the account must contain “personal information”, that is, data that should not be shared. You will also need to agree to share this data with another Google+ user or a third party application.
