Annoying mid-video ads will be reduced on YouTube

Advertisers pay creators on YouTube to show their ads. Most of the time, ads are displayed before the video itself is released, but in cases where the video is long enough, it also happens during the display. Now, it has been learned that on July 27, new platform rules will come into force, according to which the requirements for the length of the video for displaying advertisements in the middle of the video will be reduced.
Currently, advertising in the middle of the video is allowed only in cases where the video length is longer than 10 minutes. Content authors don’t need to use this feature, but many don’t refuse it, because additional ad impressions help increase earnings.
According to the new rules, YouTube will allow you to show ads in the middle of videos with a length of at least 8 minutes. Most importantly, Google will enable this feature by default on all posts that meet this requirement. This applies not only to new videos, but also already published on the platform, including those in which the authors did not use the function of displaying ads during playback.
"Today, only clips longer than 10 minutes can be used to display ads during playback. Beginning in late July, videos longer than 8 minutes will be eligible for ads in the medium of video. As part of this change, mid-video advertising will be included for all acceptable existing recordings and future downloads, including videos where you may have previously refused to use this feature, ”the developers said in a statement.
