Aquos R5G enters the international market

Today, the Japanese company Sharp launched the flagship Aquos R5G smartphone in Taiwan. This presentation was the first in a series of events to be held in various regions. The device was launched in Japan in February this year and now the manufacturer is eyeing the global market. Smartphone sales outside the home country will begin on July 6.
The new flagship, like most of the company's devices, stands out mainly for its unique design. The smartphone screen has two cutouts - at the bottom and top of the 6.5-inch IPS screen. In addition, the bottom was designed to accommodate a fingerprint scanner. The refresh rate of the screen with QHD + resolution is 120 Hz. The screen has a 19.8: 9 aspect ratio and is covered with Gorilla Glass 6 protection glass. The smartphone is protected according to the IP68 standard and weighs 189 g.



The smartphone is based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip, working in conjunction with 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The capacity of the integrated unit's UFS 3.0 standard is 256 GB. The smartphone is running Android 10. On the rear panel, there is a triple camera with two 12-megapixel sensors and one 48-megapixel sensor. The ToF sensor is also located there. The device is capable of recording 8K video.
The battery capacity of the Aquos R5G is 3730 mAh. The device will be available in black and white at a price of $ 1,187.
