NOKIA

Android 10 arrives on the Nokia 1

Android 10 (Go edition) has been made available for the Nokia 1, a handset that HMD Global released well over two years ago. The update will roll out in waves and is the second OS upgrade for the Nokia 1.
The Nokia 1 is, as its name suggests, HMD Global's entry-level smartphone. Released in April 2018 having been announced two months earlier, the Nokia 1 is over two years old, an age that would see most OEMs having already abandoned software support for it. Nonetheless, the 4.5-inch handset has now received Android 10 (Go edition).
According to HMD Global, devices in the following thirteen countries will receive the OS upgrade first. 50% of handsets should have received the update by July 10 and 100% by July 12. The list of countries included on Wave 1 of the release are as follows:

Bangladesh
Cambodia
India
Indonesia
Laos
Malaysia
Myanmar
Nepal
Philippines
Singapore
Sri Lanka
Thailand
Vietnam

The Nokia 1 launched on Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition), so Android 10 may be its final OS upgrade. According to Google, apps should launch about 10% faster on Android 10 (Go edition) should than they do on Android 9.0 Pie (Go edition). The upgrade includes many of the features from the regular version of Android 10, including a system-wide dark mode. The update itself for the Nokia 1 is an 859 MB download.
