Application will control the use of weapons in Russia

The flow of paperless documents has reached the market for legal civilian weapons. The long-promised plastic card for gun owners will soon become a single authorization document, the authenticity of which can be verified using a smartphone and a special application.
As it became known by the newspaper "Kommersant", the Research Institute "Voskhod" is developing a public and closed part of the software for automatic control of the circulation of civilian weapons. This app promises to appear before the end of this year or at the beginning of next year. This will facilitate the work of police and gun owners.
Security forces will quickly receive information about weapons and owners, including the purchase of ammunition, and citizens will be able to obtain permission to buy literally in "one click" without the current bureaucracy. Anyway, it all comes down to obtaining a universal plastic card from the owner.
The money for the development of closed (official) and open databases with applications was issued from the national program "Digital Economy". The issue price is 540 million rubles. The new platform will allow weapons to be tracked from the factory where they will be released to the store and the owner, including, as noted above, ammunition purchase marks.
In general, the new approach is delayed and can only be welcomed. The only thing that can obscure is the risk of data leakage. In that case, hackers will receive or start looking for other information - the bases of gun owners.
