Company started distributing its own application shares nearby

Today, the search giant began launching a beta version of the Share nearby app for users using a trial version of Google Play services. The feature was also available to some Chrome OS users. The Share nearby feature offers functionality similar to Apple AirDrop.
The new feature was implemented on the server side of the company. Some users have started to receive a notification suggesting to try sharing nearby. Once enabled, the feature allows users to search for nearby devices with which to share content. The application offers many settings to help limit your device's visibility to other users.

According to recent reports, nearby sharing, which to some extent is intended to replace the outdated Android Beam, will soon be available for all devices running Android 6.0 or later. In fact, the vast majority of Android smartphones in use today will get this feature.
The stable version of the nearby share is supposed to appear on smartphones in August, because, as tests have shown, the beta version of the program behaves correctly. Google plans to release versions of its new file-sharing application for Windows and macOS operating systems in the near future.
