Mozilla starts beta testing its own VPN service

Mozilla has announced the start of beta testing of its own VPN service Firefox Private Network. At the moment, US users can participate in the test, but developers hope to make the service available in several other regions of the world before the end of this year.
Service users can connect via VPN to up to five devices running Windows, Android or iOS. Currently, MacOS and Linux are not supported, but developers plan to fix this in the future. The interaction with the service is paid, the cost of a subscription is US $ 5 per month, which is the standard price for the ability to use a paid VPN service.
It was also announced that after the beta test, Firefox Private Network will become a fully autonomous product and will be offered to users under the name Mozilla VPN. The work on the service was carried out in conjunction with the Swedish developer of the virtual private network VPN Mullvad, for which the WireGuard protocol is used. Users will have the opportunity to work through servers located in 30 countries.
'' We would like to thank our beta testers for collaborating with us. Your feedback and support allowed us to start Mozilla VPN. We are working hard to make the official Mozilla VPN product available in some regions of the world this year. We will continue to offer Mozilla VPN for the current limited-time pricing model, which allows you to protect up to five devices on Windows, Android and iOS at a price of $ 5 per month, ”said the report in a blog post by the developers.
