STREAMING

7500, from Amazon, is a good thriller!

Films that take place in closed spaces such as trains, ships and especially airplanes, are among my favorites for entertainment without compromise. And it was thinking about it that I was really curious to see 7500, a film of the genre, which spends almost all the time inside an airplane cabin.
Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Crossing), it is available on Amazon Prime Video, and is a great program for those who like total tension. One detail, the title, 7500, is a reference to the code used when the plane is being attacked by terrorists.
During a flight between Berlin and Paris, terrorists, who were hiding among the passengers, attack, and at all costs want to enter the cockpit, thus dominating the control of the plane. However, young co-pilot Tobias Ellis (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) does everything to prevent a catastrophe.
The interesting thing is that, since the film is short - it has only 90 minutes - the debuting director Patrick Vollrath manages to keep the tension at all times. Even in the first scenes, accompanying some people at the airport before boarding, you know that a lot of things will go wrong. It only remains to know when. The fact that all the action takes place inside the cabin, a tight environment, only increases the feeling of claustrophobia and despair. Furthermore, the constant outside noises, and the punches on the door, which never cease, further increase the atmosphere of tension. And, notice, there is no soundtrack, that leaves the sounds of violence, in addition to the intermittent silences, even more in evidence.
7500 is a co-production between Austria, Germany and the United States. So the cast speaks German, Turkish, Arabic, and English a lot of the time. The actor who plays Vetat, Omid Memar, is great, and made me even more nervous with his constant nervousness, lol. But, it is clearly a show by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, always a great actor, who got into the role that originally would have been Paul Dano (I think Joseph is always much better). It helps to make 7500 a must-see film.
