India blocks TikTok and 58 other popular Chinese apps

Today, due to user privacy and security issues, the Indian government has blocked 59 popular Chinese apps. This includes TikTok, WeChat, Weibo and many others. This measure is reported to have been taken in accordance with Section 69A of the India Information Technology Act.
The government said it had information that blocked apps are involved in activities that damage India's sovereignty, integrity and national security. The government decided to completely stop the functionality of these programs in the country. Especially sanctions will affect TikTok. It is reported that the social networking app has been downloaded by users more than two billion times this year, of which 611 million are in India.
China typically censors apps available in the country and forces Google and Apple to remove them from regional app stores. Now the pendulum was spinning in the opposite direction.
