This app will pay you bitcoin while you walk

Startup StandApp announced that it will soon launch sMiles, an application based on the Bitcoin Lightning Network that will allow users to get cryptocurrencies by performing simple daily activities such as walking, running, cycling, playing games or watching videos.
Igor Berezovsky, project leader and co-founder, as well as CEO of Shape - the company behind IM + instant messaging apps - told Decrypt that sMiles aims to promote the mass adoption of Bitcoin, or “hyperbitcoinization”, simultaneously people “Healthier, richer and happier”.
“SMiles means sats & miles. The app is for everyone - not just for people who already know what Bitcoin is. In addition to the end-user application, we also have a powerful Lightning backend that we want to offer to application partners who are interested in micro-incentives for their users, ”said Berezovsky.
Currently, satoshis - or "sats" - are the smallest unit of Bitcoin, each representing a 0.00000001 BTC.
To measure the distances people travel, sMiles will use the smartphone's GPS location service. According to Berezovsky, users will receive satoshis even for driving, although not as much as for walking, since the app wants to promote a healthy lifestyle. Users will also receive initial rewards for granting the app various permissions, such as access to geographic location and notifications.
Any accumulated cryptocurrency can be transferred freely to any external Lightning wallet. In addition, no registration is required, unless you want to withdraw more than 10,000 satoshis.

“There is no obligation to register a real username with sMiles. We are absolutely committed to the privacy and security of use, ”added Berezovsky.
He also noted that, while sMiles is currently funded “by family and friends, without institutional funding,” the startup already plans to work with health insurers, advertisers and other partners in the future and is currently “talking to several game providers who are interested in the sMiles backend “.
After the launch of sMiles, the startup also plans to integrate similar functionality into the multiplatform IM + application.
“It is clear that there is a plan in which IM + will use the sMiles backend. My view is that people earn Bitcoin not just by walking. In the case of IM +, people should earn Bitcoin for using social networks, messaging apps and browsing, ”added Berezovsky.
Currently, developers accept applications for closed public testing of sMiles. The application will be available for the iOS and Android operating systems, as well as for the Apple Watch. The full launch is scheduled to take place near the bitcoin halving, which will take place in mid-May.
